A quick trick to check the tuning of your bassline!

Today I’ll show you guys one trick to quickly check the tuning of your bassline in your DAW. This may be helpful to someone who can not hear it as easily or clearly in the low register.

Are you ready for the simple trick? You just shift your bass up a few octaves, I like to do two octaves. I’m using Ableton in this example the hotkey to shift your notes up an octave is (Shift + ↑)

Now listen back to it and it should be incredibly obvious which notes are out of tune with the track. Once you’ve made any slight corrections you’ve need to make you should shift it back down two octaves to its original position. Ableton hotkey is (Shift + ↓)
